Glimmer Goddess® Ingredient Standards
Glimmer Goddess® Ingredient Standards
At Glimmer Goddess®, we believe ingredient lists should feel reassuring, not confusing. Our Ingredient Standards were created so you always know exactly what you’re putting on your skin—and just as importantly, what you’re not. Every Glimmer Goddess® formula is crafted around organic botanicals, science-backed plant actives, and modern, low-irritation preservatives, all handcrafted in Texas in small batches.
This page is your complete, transparent guide to how we choose ingredients, what we will never use, and how our standards support sensitive, mature, and health-conscious skin.
Why Ingredient Standards Matter
The beauty industry still allows many additives that offer little benefit to the skin and may contribute to sensitivity, barrier disruption, or long-term concern. Our customers deserve something better—clean, conscious formulas that respect both skin and health.
That’s why Glimmer Goddess® follows a strict ingredient framework built on three pillars:
- Organic & plant-based first
- Toxin-conscious and low-irritant by design
- Evidence-informed and results-focused
Our “Never” List: What We Avoid
We carefully screen every ingredient that enters our lab. The following categories are not used in Glimmer Goddess® formulations:
- Parabens – commonly used preservatives we choose to avoid in favor of modern alternatives.
- Sulfates (like SLS/SLES) – harsh foaming agents that can strip the skin’s barrier.
- Phthalates – often found in synthetic fragrance systems.
- Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives
- Petrochemical-heavy bases used as cheap fillers.
- Heavy synthetic fragrance – “parfum” blends that hide undisclosed chemicals.
- Microplastics & unnecessary fillers that don’t serve the skin.
These ingredients are simply not aligned with the Glimmer Goddess® clean beauty philosophy or the needs of sensitive, mature, and health-conscious skin.
Our “Yes” List: Ingredients We Love
We formulate with ingredients that actively nourish, protect, or support the skin barrier. Many of our formulas feature:
Organic Plant Oils & Butters
- Rosehip Seed Oil – rich in vitamins A (from natural carotenoids) and C, supports tone and texture.
- Jojoba Oil – biomimetic to skin’s natural sebum; ideal for balancing and softening.
- Sweet Almond Oil – helps soothe dryness and roughness.
- Coconut Oil – supports moisture and skin softness.
- Shea & Cocoa Butter – deeply nourishing butters that help protect the moisture barrier.
- Olive-derived Squalane – a lightweight, non-greasy lipid that supports barrier integrity.
Botanical Extracts & Antioxidants
- Aloe Vera Juice – a soothing hydrosol base in many face and body products.
- Green Tea, White Tea & Pomegranate Extracts – antioxidant-rich botanicals that help buffer environmental stress.
- Sea Buckthorn, Camu Camu, Amla Berry – naturally vitamin C–rich ingredients that support radiance and even tone.
- Calendula Extract – known for its skin-calming properties.
These botanicals contribute to the silky, cushiony feel that Glimmer Goddess® customers love, while providing vitamins, fatty acids, and phytonutrients the skin can truly use.
Science-Backed Natural Actives
Clean beauty does not mean choosing between safety and results. Our Ingredient Standards embrace plant-based actives that have a growing body of supportive research and a long history of use in skincare:
- Plant Stem Cells – including Apple, Lingonberry, Orchid, and Orange stem cells, used to support the appearance of firmness, elasticity, and a more youthful complexion.
- Hyaluronic Acid – a water-binding molecule that helps hydrate and plump the skin’s surface.
- Vegetal Glycerin – a plant-derived humectant that attracts moisture to the skin.
- Niacinamide (where used) – known to support barrier strength and even skin tone.
- Mineral Zinc Oxide (non-nano) – for physical UV protection in selected daytime formulas.
- Peptides & supportive actives in advanced serums that work in synergy with botanicals.
We focus on actives that are effective at realistic, skin-friendly levels—without aggressive formulas that can overwhelm sensitive or barrier-impaired skin.
Fragrance & Essential Oils: A Gentle, Transparent Approach
Fragrance is one of the most common cosmetic irritants, especially for sensitive and reactive skin. That’s why our fragrance policy is intentional and conservative.
- No heavy synthetic fragrance (“parfum”) added simply for scent.
- Carefully selected essential oils, chosen for both aroma and skin benefits.
- Used in low, balanced concentrations designed to be pleasant, not overpowering.
- Clear labeling so you can quickly identify essential oils in each formula.
For ultra-sensitive users, we offer options that are low in essential oils or focused on the mildest aromatic profiles, and we always recommend patch testing if you’ve reacted to fragrance or essential oils in the past.
Preservation & Safety: Why We Use Euxyl K 903
Any product containing water (like creams, lotions, toners, and serums) must be preserved properly to remain safe and free from harmful microbes over its shelf life. We use Euxyl K 903 in many Glimmer Goddess® formulas—a modern, broad-spectrum preservative system widely used in natural and clean beauty products.
We choose Euxyl K 903 because it:
- Provides broad-spectrum protection against bacteria, yeast, and mold.
- Is suitable for leave-on products used on the face and body.
- Allows us to avoid harsher, more controversial preservatives still used in some conventional cosmetics.
Our goal is always to strike the right balance: enough preservation to keep your products safe and stable, without compromising our clean beauty standards.
Small-Batch, Handcrafted Production
Glimmer Goddess® products are crafted in small batches in Texas so we can carefully control every step of the process:
- Better freshness and shorter time between blending and bottling.
- Closer oversight of texture, consistency, and quality.
- Protection of delicate botanicals that may degrade in large industrial runs.
This small-batch approach complements our Ingredient Standards, helping us maintain high integrity from raw ingredient to finished jar or bottle.
Transparency: Reading a Glimmer Goddess® Ingredient Label
We want you to feel confident every time you read one of our labels. That means:
- Full INCI ingredient listings on our website and packaging.
- Plain-language explanations of key actives in our product descriptions and blogs.
- No “fragrance blend” shortcuts that hide undisclosed chemicals.
- Clear indication when a formula features specific hero actives, like plant stem cells or vitamin C–rich botanicals.
If you ever have questions about an ingredient, our team is committed to honest, transparent answers.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Ingredient Standards
What does “clean ingredients” mean at Glimmer Goddess®?
For Glimmer Goddess®, “clean” means choosing organic, plant-based, and toxin-conscious ingredients while avoiding harsh or controversial additives. We focus on botanicals, gentle actives, and modern preservatives that keep products safe without unnecessary extras.
Do you use synthetic fragrance in your products?
No. We do not use heavy synthetic fragrance blends. Our products are scented, when applicable, with carefully chosen essential oils in low, balanced concentrations—or are made with very soft, natural aromatic profiles.
Are Glimmer Goddess® products suitable for sensitive skin?
Many customers with sensitive skin enjoy our formulas because they are free from harsh sulfates, parabens, and heavy synthetic fragrance. That said, every sensitive skin is unique, so we always recommend patch testing any new product.
Why do you use Euxyl K 903 as a preservative?
We use Euxyl K 903 because it’s a modern, broad-spectrum preservative system suitable for clean beauty formulations. It allows us to keep water-based products safe from microbes while avoiding older, more controversial preservative systems.
Are your ingredient standards the same across all products?
Yes. While formulas vary by skin type and product function, every Glimmer Goddess® product is created within the same clean, toxin-conscious framework and small-batch production standards.
