Whipped Body Butter: How to Use It for Deep, Lasting Moisture

Whipped body butter is made for the moments when a light lotion does not feel like enough. Its richer texture can help soften dry, rough-feeling body skin and slow moisture loss, especially on areas such as shins, elbows, knees and hands.

What body butter actually does

Body butter works mainly by supplying emollient and occlusive ingredients that soften the skin surface and help reduce water loss. It can make dry skin feel smoother and look less flaky, but it should not be described as rebuilding collagen, treating disease or permanently tightening skin.

When to apply it

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends applying moisturizer while skin is still damp after bathing. This helps trap water in the skin. A rich body butter can be especially useful after a shower or before bed.

How much do you need?

Start small. Warm a modest amount between your hands and spread it over the area. Add more only where skin still feels dry. Very rich formulas can feel heavy if over-applied.

Body butter versus lotion

Lotions usually have a lighter texture and can be convenient for large areas or daytime use. Body butters are generally richer and may be preferred for very dry skin or targeted areas.

Current Glimmer Goddess® Whipped Body Butter

Our current Organic Whipped Body Butter for Extremely Dry Skin 8 oz. is available in a broad range of scent options plus Unscented. Lavender Lemon is currently identified as the bestseller variant.

Does “whipped” mean it stays fluffy in every temperature?

No. Rich butter-based formulas can soften in heat and firm in cooler temperatures. Texture can change without necessarily changing the product’s moisturizing function.

Is body butter only for winter?

No. Many people use it year-round on persistently dry areas, while using lighter lotion elsewhere or during humid weather.

Can body butter treat eczema?

A cosmetic moisturizer can support dry-skin comfort, but it should not be presented as treating eczema unless it is specifically regulated and labeled for that purpose.
